BLOOMING AVOCADO TOAST
Transform your average avocado toast into a thing of beauty with this simple trick.
Time: 20 minutes | Difficulty: 2/5 | Servings: 4
1. Toast Your Bread
2. Half and Peel
Slice your avocado in half and peel the skin off.
3. Slice Your Avocado
Slice the avocado horizontally as thinly as you can. This is key.
4. Shape Your Flower
Using both hands, start to press and shape the avocado into a long line — as long as you can get it to go without any of the pieces disconnecting. Start curling the ends toward each other in a spiral until you have a rose shape. You can press down gently and shape using your hands.
5. Place the Avocado Flower
Use a spatula to place the avocado flower on your toast. If it’s not perfect, don’t worry! That’s what toppings are for ;)
6. Add Toppings
Add your favorite toppings. I like to add a squeeze of lemon juice, lemon zest, feta cheese, olive oil, microgreens, flaky sea salt, and black pepper.
Other Topping Ideas
Thinly sliced radish (e.g. watermelon, red), red pepper flakes, everything bagel seasoning, cherry tomatoes, bacon crumbles, or an egg.
